Create an assignment for students who want to use the camera on their phone or tablet

Some students may want to take a picture of a written document, whiteboard, or a screenshot on their tablet device as their assignment submission. In order to allow a photo for submissions, the following parameters need to be set for the Canvas assignment.

Create or locate the assignment.

Click the dropdown next to Submission Type.

Select Online.

Check the box next to File Uploads. *Please note if you select to restrict the file types, you must enter jpg (no periods).

Select Save to save the changes or Save & Publish if you are ready to publish.
